La Boheme @ Sydney Opera House

Patrick's Friendly Tours - Tuesday, July 05, 2011

Puccini's La boheme, the world's favourite opera now coming to Sydney following its run in Melbourne where it was a huge hit.

La boheme is a young person's opera about falling in love, and losing the love of your life. Puccini's glorious classic is transported to the glittering Spiegeltent of 1930's Berlin. The fairy lights are twinkling and the music is playing, but in reality the bohemians are still hungry and cold. When Rodolfo meets Mimi the hardship melts in a blaze of passion. But love won't pay the rent.

This new production showcases some of the finest young singers from Australia and beyond with Takesha Meshe Kizart sharing the role of Mimi with Antoinette Halloran and Hye Seoung Kwon, while Korean-born Ji-Min Park plays Rodolfo, followed by Diego Torre and James Egglestone
Martin Buckingham.
